ReaderCon Change of Plans…(Vent Incoming)

So…remember when I said I’d be at ReaderCon 35 this year?

Back in May, I put in a PTO request very soon after being accepted as a vendor. I checked the request status weekly. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Finally, when the con was two weeks away, my supervisor denied my PTO request. She said we were too short-staffed and my co-worker put in a request around the same time. So, I went ahead and cancelled my flights and hotel reservation. I emailed ReaderCon and told them I wouldn’t be attending. THE FOLLOWING NIGHT, my fucking boss says I can go on my trip. AFTER I ALREADY CANCELLED EVERYTHING. I am beyond pissed and heartbroken. I always enjoy going to ReaderCon. I love being around readers and fellow writers. Now I can’t do that this year. I am pretty inconsolable.

So, no…I won’t be in attendance. I’m so sorry.
